Recently, all on-site facilities of Dunhuang Guosheng Narada 200MW/800MWh Standalone Energy Storage Demonstration Project, the first grid-side standalone energy storage project in Dunhuang City, have been fully constructed. Once commissioned and put into operation, the station will effectively make up for the insufficient peak-shaving capacity of the power grid and expand the application scope of green power.

Located in Dunhuang Photovoltaic Industrial Park, the project involves a total investment of 760 million RMB. Its DC side system consists of 160 sets of 5MWh energy storage battery containers, equipped with self-developed 314Ah lithium batteries independently engineered by Narada Power as the core components.

The local climate featuring frequent sandstorms and large temperature differences between day and night poses severe challenges to the adaptability and stability of energy storage systems.

Narada’s 5MWh+ liquid-cooled energy storage system features IP67 protection rating for core components and battery PACKs, alongside multi-layer safety protection designs that completely block dust ingress to ensure safe and stable system operation. Adopting a multi-stage variable-diameter liquid cooling pipeline design, the intelligent liquid cooling temperature control technology limits the temperature difference within each battery module to less than 3℃.

With the continuous expansion of energy storage capacity, Dunhuang is poised to transform from a major wind and solar power hub into a demonstration base integrating wind, solar, hydrogen and energy storage. It will deliver a replicable and promotable "Dunhuang Model" to support high-quality development of new energy in Northwest China and across the whole country.
