Dialogue on Opportunities and Challenges in the AIDC Energy Storage Market | Narada Power × GGII Live Room
Release Date:2026-05-11

What is the market size potential of the AIDC energy storage market in the future?

How to choose the technical route?

What are the advantages of Narada's AIDC energy storage technologies and products?

On September 25, Liu Chenghao, Vice President of Narada Power and President of the International Marketing Center, was invited to the GGII Live Room to have an in-depth dialogue with industry experts on "Opportunities and Challenges in the AIDC Energy Storage Market".

What topics did Vice President Liu Chenghao cover in his special presentation and panel discussion? Let's take a look.

Special Presentation

In the special presentation, Vice President Liu Chenghao pointed out that the AIDC industry is developing at an accelerated pace. The expansion of large model training and inference scales has driven an exponential increase in GPU computing power. With the intensive launch of supercomputing and intelligent computing centers, energy consumption has become a focal point.

From 2025 to 2030, the compound annual growth rate of the AIDC backup battery market will be approximately 80%. Lithium batteries have become the preferred solution due to their high power density and instantaneous response capability. By 2030, the lithium battery market size will exceed 100 GWh, becoming the absolute mainstream of energy security in the intelligent computing era.

With 30 years of deep cultivation, Narada Power holds a dual leading position in technology leadership and the global market in the field of data center backup batteries.

In the lithium battery sector, its high-voltage lithium products enjoy high recognition in overseas high-end markets and rank first in overseas data center high-voltage lithium battery shipments among Chinese enterprises.

Especially in the North American market, lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology products have successfully competed with international top brands, making Narada a core supplier of backup batteries for data centers of leading US internet companies.

In terms of lead-acid batteries, according to a report released by the authoritative institution ICT Research, the company ranks first in China's data center market with a 20.2% share.

As AIDC puts forward higher requirements for backup power systems in terms of power density, safety and service life, lithium iron phosphate batteries are gradually becoming the mainstream due to their advantages of high safety, long service life and low cost.

The AIDC high-voltage lithium battery solution launched by Narada Power features high power density, full-scenario coverage and intelligent operation and maintenance. It supports short-time high-rate discharge, saves 70% of floor space compared with lead-acid batteries, and reduces the full life cycle cost by 30% to 50%, providing reliable energy security for global AIDC, ultra-large data centers and other applications.

Roundtable Dialogue‌

In the subsequent roundtable dialogue, Vice President Liu Chenghao discussed product demand, route selection and market potential in the AIDC energy storage market with industry experts and enterprise representatives.

The Global AIDC Energy Storage Market Ushered in Explosive Growth

Vice President Liu Chenghao first looked forward to the macro AIDC market. He pointed out that with the exponential growth of global computing power demand, AIDC has become the core component of digital infrastructure, which has put forward higher requirements for the stability, instantaneous response capability and energy efficiency standards of power supply.

According to the judgment, from 2025 to 2030, the compound annual growth rate of the global AIDC backup battery market is expected to reach as high as 80%.

By 2030, the global AIDC and general IDC backup battery market size is expected to exceed 100 GWh, while the overall market size of new energy storage supporting the green power direct supply model will exceed 300 GWh. This data highlights the strategic position of the AIDC track in the energy storage industry chain.

Clear Technical Route: LFP as the Mainstream, Solid-State Batteries Coming Soon

In the panel discussion, the second topic directly pointed to the technical route trend of AIDC backup batteries.

Vice President Liu Chenghao clearly stated that lithium batteries are rapidly replacing lead-acid batteries as the industry's first choice due to their high power density, fast response and reliability.

Due to the risk of thermal runaway of ternary lithium batteries in high-temperature environments, lithium iron phosphate batteries are accelerating to replace the ternary lithium technology route worldwide due to their high safety and long cycle life.

He further revealed that solid-state battery technology has entered the eve of industrialization and is expected to be gradually applied in backup power scenarios with high reliability requirements in the next 2 to 3 years, becoming the next-generation technical direction.

Chinese Enterprises Have Obvious Advantages in Going Global, and Safety Becomes a Key Competitiveness

Regarding the competition situation of Chinese enterprises in overseas markets, Vice President Liu Chenghao analyzed that China's lithium iron phosphate industrial chain has global leading advantages in cost, safety and production capacity.

He cited an example that a safety accident occurred in the ternary lithium backup power system adopted by a Korean enterprise earlier, which triggered great attention to battery safety in the industry. The industry's zero tolerance for safety accidents has objectively promoted the market to turn to safer lithium iron phosphate solutions, bringing replacement opportunities for Chinese enterprises.

In addition, in response to the discussion on whether the "green power direct supply + new energy storage" will replace the traditional backup power system, Vice President Liu Chenghao emphasized that data centers have extremely low tolerance for power outages, and even minute-level or second-level power outages may cause major losses. At present, the green power direct supply model still has a verification cycle in instantaneous switching and reliability.

Therefore, against the background of the gradual promotion of high-voltage direct current architecture, short-time, high-rate lithium battery backup power systems are still the optimal solution at present.

Evolution of Power Supply Architecture: 800V DC Will Become a Trend, Backup Power Systems Still Need "Three Guarantees"

With the continuous improvement of AIDC single cabinet power density, the power supply architecture is upgrading from the traditional 48V DC to 800V high-voltage direct current (HVDC).

In response to this trend, Vice President Liu Chenghao pointed out that the economy of emerging alternative solutions such as the "green power direct supply + new energy storage" model needs to be verified through multi-dimensional verification such as full life cycle cost calculation and multi-scenario adaptability, and it is difficult to subvert the existing pattern in the short term.

Especially under the industry trend of rising voltage levels and expanding unit capacity, the triple power supply guarantee mechanism adopted by the traditional AIDC backup power system at present can ensure the uninterrupted operation of data centers and is still regarded as the preferred solution in high-reliability scenarios.
