Recently, the 100MW/200MWh energy storage power station located in the Xiangxiang Economic Development Zone has been fully connected to the grid following installation, construction, and commissioning. Narada provided complete system integration equipment and services for the project.
Hunan Province faces challenges such as limited primary energy resources, large fluctuations between peak and off-peak electricity demand on the power grid, a high proportion of installed renewable energy capacity, and the complexity of ultra-high-voltage transmission systems with strong direct current and weak alternating current support.
Located in Xiangxiang Economic Development Zone, the project covers an area of 13,000 square meters and includes 60 containerized battery cabins and 30 integrated AC/DC PCS cabins. It is one of the largest energy storage power stations in Hunan Province.
The project adopts Narada’s Center L Plus liquid-cooled energy storage system, which features high energy density, efficient thermal management, and a long cycle life. It is equipped with Narada’s independently developed lithium batteries dedicated to energy storage, enabling full coordination from cell level to system level to ensure safety and reliability.
Narada has once again been listed on the BNEF Global Tier 1 Energy Storage Manufacturers ranking. This recognition will strongly support the company’s continued expansion into overseas energy storage markets and highlights its growing competitiveness on the international stage.
Upon commissioning, the project will significantly ease the challenges of integrating renewable energy into the grid, relieve local power supply pressures in Xiangxiang and Xiangtan, and mitigate the randomness and intermittency of renewable energy generation. It enhances the grid’s peak shaving and frequency regulation capabilities, improves power quality and grid stability, and supports applications such as peak load shifting, demand-side response, and black start operations.
